Customize me

Make me taller, smaller, cleaner, meaner.

My arms stretch out across a winter sunset. My head tilts to god.

Make me truer, dreamer, bluer, schemer.

I am shouting.

Do you want me at a faster pace and pitch? Do you want a timid stumble? Do you want me proud or humble? Nice girl or nasty bitch?

I stretch my body backwards so that my head bends between my legs. My monster hands are backwards too and leveled on still water. I whisper through a broken throat.

I'm flexible. Customize me.

  1. Wow! I love it. Don't we all feel that way now and then?

  2. Love the title, but who's customizing who?
Mine would be taller (slightly), thinner (just one size), and I don't know how to say the last bit "with right ear that doesn't stick out er".
    I think that's all!

  3. Aww, you'd be every man's dream, I bet.

  4. Interesting, not sure what to make of that. I do understand wanting to be more, different or better than I am though.
I Like the comment Fareed left before me - get your mind out of the gutter Fareed. Of course that could be what your talking about Suzy, poetry is not my strength.

  5. I think that my main character secretly wrote this blog post.

  6. I need to be more flexible. Sometimes I don't know what I want to be shaped as. Sometimes I know exactly. I guess the trick is being moldable.

  7. Bend your monster hands backwards and accept a good wish for the new year.

  8. Love this, Suzanne. Until recently, I was never satisfied with who I was or how I looked. "Customize me" is a great way to put that. Now I'm accepting me, flaws and all. It only took 60 years! Sheesh.
    Happy New Year!

  9. Beautifully written. . . . this is the truest work of art. . . heartsongs that scream from the lowest place inside us to the highest eb of joy.

    You did this well.
