Cleaning out my closet

I'm cleaning out my closet today. Finding things I thought were missing. Dusting off forgotten shoes. Reaching up to find my flip flops.

I'm reinventing myself. Putting away my suits. Grabbing my old jeans and t-shirts.

Hard work. Feels good. Ooohhh I just found an anklet I thought was lost. A jingle jangle kind. Bells.

Ooooooh! Here's picture of Gracie when she was two at Disney world. Here is some african violet incense. I'm lighting it. It smells like home. It smells like me.

This is a good thing.

Clean anything out lately? FUN. Next stop? Car. I may not come back from that mission alive. If you don't hear from me by next week, send in the clowns.

XO

  1. That's how I felt when I cleaned out my pantry/storage/laundry room a couple of weeks ago! De-cluttering it felt like I was de-cluttering my brain as well, and made me want to go on to the next project.

  2. How do you do it?
You can write wonderfully about just cleaning out a closet!
It's a job I have in mind for mid-term break in 10 days, but I find it exhausting.

  4. Cleaning is nice sometimes. It makes things pretty, which is fun.

I tidied this week. It didn't help find what I was looking for, but things looked all nice and pretty for a while there, which was nice.

  5. I need to clean out my fridge, but I guarantee it won't be fun. However, there is always a family contest to see who can predict the date of the oldest thing I find in there. I mean, you have to take you fun where you can find it, right>

  6. I cleaned out my pantry this last week. The process was boring (to be honest) but the result does make me smile. Clean cereal shelves...no crushed rice crispies and sugar granuals filling in the cracks. And the honey that my youngest spilled on the top shelf last summer is finally cleaned up. Go me!

  9. Ha, good luck.

Cleaning our family vehicle, especially under the seats where the kids sit, is like an episode of "Man Versus Wild."

  14. Dude, can you come to my house? I hate cleaning things out. It doesn't make me nostalgic or anything. It just makes me mad.

    Glad you enjoy it though.

  16. I always feel as if I'm cleaning out the recesses of my brain when I clean a closet. I seriously don't know why I put it off the way I do. Besides I always find something that makes it feel like free shopping!
