Summer

Let the night gently fall all around. Come crickets, come fireflies, come sandy shoes.

Open my bare arms like branches. Finger leaves pressed out against still, pink skies.

Grow raspberries, grow tomatoes and basil... lavender and thyme.

White lined paper and candlelight, moon flowers vine around my ankles.

Welcome Summer. It's been a very long year.

  3. Lovely. It makes me completely forget how summer means 110 degree heat indexes, ice cold central air in my office, mosquitos and gnats.

Really. And that is a FEAT, I tell you! Beautiful, restful language! And yes, it has been a very long winter.
