Mermaid Moment

The other day while I was going about all the usual things... (you know, the washer and dryer and dishes and groceries and mothering and such) I suddenly had an unexplainable and seizing urge to be inside the sea.

And so I did something that was uncharacteristic of the me who is an adult. I NEVER drop anything I have to do for what I want to do.

But I did!

I went straight to the beach and dove into the sea. I swam and floated for hours.

Still life in mermaid.

  1. Sometimes life demands that you drop everything. I wish it was warm enough here to swim. I'll have to wait another month.

  2. I would have loved to drop everything and dive into the sea with you, Suze. Especially today.

I'd give a kidney to be able to float in the ocean this weekend! I'll have to settle for the kiddie pool at my birthday party Saturday. An ocean definitely would have been better, though. :)

  3. What a great moment for you. I'll bet you don't regret it! :)

  4. Oh Suzanne, that's one of the things I love about summer, those impulse-driven moments! cos, like you, most of the time I ignore impulses in favour of the responsible or sensible thing.
But, those occasions when we break out, and be that mermaid (or whatever, it's too cold here to be the mermaid), boy aren't they wonderful?!!

  5. You guys are SO awesome! But don't encourage me.... I'll go back to the sea and stay there! And have long mermaid hair....

  6. OMG! There is so much liberty in that! I love it!
